A hands-on, international training program designed to drive change in sustainable systems
Understand interconnections, identify hidden leverage points, and co-design solutions for more sustainable systems. This program is led by three leading institutions — L’École de design Nantes Atlantique, OsloMet, and HTW Berlin — united within the European Systemic Design Lab.
Thinking & Designing for Sustainable Systems
This program offers a practical introduction to systemic design, combining theoretical insights with applied methods to help professionals navigate complexity, understand systems, and design more sustainable, interconnected solutions.
You will explore systemic approaches, mapping techniques, and collaborative tools through a mix of online sessions and a two-day immersive workshop in Oslo.
The program is co-led by three leading institutions in systemic design, recognized for their expertise and international experience. It provides a transdisciplinary, collaborative learning environment to develop your skills in understanding and transforming complex systems.

About the Program
The systemic design program was initiated and developed by Julia Kunkel, Director of the Food Design Lab at L’École de design Nantes Atlantique.
It is delivered through the European Systemic Design Lab, a European project funded by Erasmus+ that supports skill development and the adoption of a systemic approach by municipalities, institutions, and businesses.
The European Systemic Design Lab is co-led by L’École de design Nantes Atlantique, OsloMet, and HTW Berlin, three leading institutions in systemic design, recognized for their international expertise and experience in training professionals capable of transforming complex systems.
