Parvin, international student in the Master's program in France
What does it mean to study design abroad and grow up in an international creative community?
Parvin Masoudi, one of our international graduates, explains why she chose to study design at L'École de design Nantes Atlantique for her Master's program. Today, she's working in Paris for a footwear design company. Her message to future international students? Live this international experience during your studies, you won’t regret it!
Why did you choose to study at L'École de design Nantes Atlantique?
After my bachelor’s degree, I decided that it was a very good opportunity to go abroad and explore the world. I chose to do my Master's program in this school because I found the program "Design, Strategy and Innovation" very interesting. I also found it interesting to join an international community bringing together many designers from around the world.
This school offers a lot of workshops, which can really improve your experience as a designer. One memorable moment was when I tried the ceramic workshops. It was amazing. Another one was when I co-founded the “Recuperatherie”, a recycling center, with other students. It was a really great moment. We truly created something for the school that I hope will endure.
The last most memorable moment during my studies at L'École de design Nantes Atlantique was my final defense. It was an incredible moment because it summarized all the work of these past years in design.
What do you like about the city of Nantes?
I appreciate many things about Nantes. The fact that the city is student-oriented makes it easy to get around and make friends. It is a very artistic city with many exhibitions, concerts and museums. So there is always something to do. I have had many memorable experiences there.
Any advice for international students who want to study in France?
By attending an international class, I have become more open-minded. I learned how to communicate with others, discover other cultures, and share something new every day.
My advice: don’t be afraid and be brave! You will enjoy this experience, where you will meet people from other countries. It’s going to be amazing. So let’s do it!
