Firefly

Do you feel safe at night in the city?

Marie Rouzo is regularly faced with waiting at bus stops late at night. A dark and lonely bus shelter can cause oppressive feelings of fear and insecurity.

In order to “forget the wait”, she redesigned the bus stop for the journey from the “Hangar à Bananes” to Nantes city center. Marie Rouzo, in bachelor interior architecture, imagined a place where people felt safe, adapting it to the needs of city-dwellers: real-time traffic forecasts, warmth and comfortable surroundings. Lighting is at ground-level and follows the green line of the Voyage à Nantes. This lighting system is linked to the Firefly application which reassures passengers, informs them of traffic conditions and actively involves them in the waiting time.

This project is part of Design portfolio 2020, a selection of 36 projects from this year which bear witness to the talent, creativity and know-how developed by the students during their undergraduate studies.
