“This is not a chair”.

Our contemporary way of life has had a huge impact on our ability to concentrate. The plethora of information we are exposed to conditions our brain to function more quickly… but for shorter periods! Our concentration span is currently reduced by a third. Fortunately, the neuroplasticity of our brain enables us, through stimulation and training, to regain our original brain capacity.

It is from this observation that Laure Tibayrenc, during her studies in Product Design, decided to instigate the project focus, a seat which regenerates the powers of concentration. A geometrically variable office chair, focuS challenges our perceptions as much it repairs our neurons. As well as facilitating concentration, it is a meaningful object with a sustainable life cycle.
