Langosta
Sebastien is a happy and carefree little boy. For him, disease is something he associates with old age and loneliness. So when he was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 10, his life was turned upside down. At school, he suffered from being labelled as "the sick kid", a label that was hard to shake off. The constant dependence on his colostomy bag made him feel like he didn't fit in. Irene created Langosta to reduce the psychological suffering of young patients. This line of underwear, designed for teenagers, conceals medical devices. Freed from their status as patients, young people feel in control of their lives again! Their clothing evolves with them and accompanies them from the time of diagnosis to the acceptance of their illness.
This project has been selected as part of Design L'Expo 2022 and will be exhibited at La Cale 2 Créateurs from 3 December 2022 to 26 February 2023.

It responds to a sensitive issue: the body of the teenager, in full development, which is confronted by medical devices experienced as invasive.

"In both form and content, Langosta is an extremely relevant project. It responds to a sensitive issue: the body of the teenager, in full development, which is confronted by medical devices experienced as invasive. In order to address this problem accurately, Irene designed sophisticated and complex analysis grids. She also tested the prototypes of her entire line of underwear with users."
