Mate o feminicídio
Brazil has an infamous record rate of femicides. The trivialization of violence against women prevails. According to statistics, there are 13 victims per day, or one death every 90 minutes.
Out of love, many women tolerate the intolerable, regardless of their social class, age or ethnicity. To raise awareness about gender-based violence and help potential victims escape a toxic relationship, Ophélie has created an online platform designed for smartphones. It offers 3 components: a serious game, a set of informative data and a self-diagnosis tool for relationships. For Ophélie, design serves as a tool for militant commitment.
This project, exhibited at La Cale 2 Créateurs from 15 September to 3 October 2021, has been selected as part of Design L'Expo 2020.

Ophélie has identified the seriousness of this issue thanks to different actors in the field: local associations and battered women.
"
" Via an application, Ophélie offers serious gaming that illustrates different degrees of violence that can occur in a relationship. Role-playing scenarios reflect the verbal, psychological or physical violence that can be played out on a daily basis. At the end of her research and analysis phase, Ophélie found that most women in toxic and dangerous relationships are unaware of their situation. As a result, they are not in a position to escape. Brazil is a country still marked by many macho and patriarchal attitudes. Ophélie has identified the seriousness of this issue thanks to different actors in the field: local associations and battered women. Her preventive and educational approach promotes life-saving awareness. As well as the content of the application, her communication finds its strength in codes borrowed from cinema, with powerful and interactive visuals. Graphically, the prejudice is averted using colored tints to reveal the seriousness of the context or, conversely, to reassure the user. " Benjamin Gagneux - Brazil Studio Course Leader
