Phaune
« Our era is undergoing an “awareness crisis” with respect to wildlife. » Baptiste Morizot
In the city or in the countryside, birds are omnipresent. Sadly, these bird populations are disappearing at an alarming rate and their song can be heard less and less.
Imagined by Pierre Tellier, in bachelor graphic design, the Phaune project consists of an interactive map. Website and application in one, the map plays the sound of birdsong all over France. Recording microphones are placed in city centers, with the help of local authorities. The different birdsongs, relayed visually on the map thanks to their frequencies, are translated into colorful patterns. Cultivating awareness to better protect the world: this is the goal of Phaune.
This project is part of Design portfolio 2020, a selection of 36 projects from this year which bear witness to the talent, creativity and know-how developed by the students during their undergraduate studies.
