Seascape
On coasts where the beauty of the coastline rivals that of the seabed, mass tourism is taking its toll. Seascape is a breakthrough in the quest to tackle the massive degradation of marine ecosystems.
This educational underwater walk explores preserved places where visitors equipped with masks and snorkels glide through the water. Seascape invites the diver to go from module to module and complete various activities to recover valuable information. Three discovery trails are proposed. Using narration and gameplay designed for a wide audience - and with minimal impact on the ecosystems - Seascape awakens the tourist to fun, sustainable and resilient diving.
This project, exhibited at La Cale 2 Créateurs from 15 September to 3 October 2021, has been selected as part of Design L'Expo 2020.

" How can we raise awareness about protecting the oceans? How can we reconcile discovering the seashore while also protecting it in the face of growing tourism? With this project, Jules combines a fun and sporty activity with coastal protection. Seascape is a marine activity that allows you to go from module to module, while having a lot of fun. By retrieving information through certain actions, the user learns about pollution and interacts with the ocean. The architecture of Seascape is ephemeral, thus preserving the ecosystem and generating a dynamic of renewal. Jules’ approach is to raise awareness in "ordinary" tourists without making them feel guilty. To do this, he has surrounded himself with experts in biodiversity, seabed protection and psychology. He has also called on people involved in the development of sports and leisure activities. Jules has come up with a result that combines aesthetics and a high-quality lived experience in a design that raises awareness of underwater fauna and flora.
